Childhood Of Holy Prophet(S.A.W)


The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in Mecca, Arabia in 570AD. He was born into the Hashim clan which belonged to the noble tribe of Quraysh. He was born an orphan. His father, Hadhrat Abdullah (RA) passed away a few months before was born. His mother was Hadhrat Amina (RA). His grandfather Hadhrat Mutalib (RA) gave him the name Muhammad (PBUH), which means ‘the praised one’. He was handed over to a wet nurse as was the custom in Arabia at the time. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to look after the goats and camels in the fields like other Arab youngsters. He was a pious and truthful child. He never told a lie. He always tried to help the poor and weak. He was respectful to his elders and kind to those younger than him. He was given the titles As-Sadiq meaning ‘the truthful’ and Al-Ameen meaning ‘the trustworthy’.
